Get Educated The pace of modern life is so fast, it is difficult to keep up with the issues affecting our neighborhood, our state, and our nation. We provide a forum where guest speakers and concerned citizens can express their views on topical issues. We also feature local elected officials who provide updates on issues facing the Atlanta City Council and Georgia Legislature.
Get Engaged It is important to learn about the issues, but civil society requires more: active participation in discussion and debate. We provide the opportunity to meet local elected officials and candidates running for local office and to express your concerns to them. We work with like-minded affinity groups to expand our network of interested individuals. Our newsletter and website contain links to progressive think tanks, who produce research reports on important issues facing the country, and articles, written by our members, on issues affecting the citizens of Fulton County.
Get Elected Learning about and engaging in the issues are two important steps, but for your voice to be truly heard on Election Day, you must leverage the knowledge and the network to help maximize voter turnout. We are a community that works to elect Democratic candidates to local, state, and national offices. We work to register voters in Fulton County, so more people have access to the process. We work to get out the vote on election day, so access will become involvement. We believe more involvement will mean more Democrats are elected.
A democracy depends upon the active participation of its citizens. Without it, the preferences of the majority can be overrun by a vocal minority with narrow, self-serving interests. Join us and make sure the issues you care about are heard.
